Is Jay Leno a Corporate Shill?
tags:"Is the Jay Leno Show entertainment or is it a series of advertisements? In moments taken from the September 25, 2009 show, Jay Leno spends an inordinate amount of time plugging Wendy's, Wal-Mart, Bing, Mike's Hard Lemonade, and numerous other products. How many commercials are you REALLY seeing?"

I think it probably has more to do with using names/products that most of his audience are familiar with. although, yeah, some of these are pretty blatantly advertisements.
"It might surprise you (or not), but corporations are buying product placement in prime time shows because more viewers are using DVRs and Web downloads to skip past the paid advertisements. So, yes, they are likely paying to have their products mentioned by name. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes it's so subtle you'd barely catch it."

"He isn't a shill. This is just a symptom of trying to bring familiarity and making his audience relate to his punch lines."
The Jay leno Show is a valuable advertising platform. And there are vast numbers of people who, on behalf of corporate employers, attempt to influence public opinion. Nothing personal, but you sound like one of those hacks operating incognito.
